Los Angeles ad agency Phenomenon has parted ways with its founder and CEO Krishnan Menon after 15 years.

An agency spokesman confirmed that Menon is no longer with the company and said Phenomenon is searching for his successor.

Menon launched Phenomenon in 2006 after holding top roles at agencies like Omnicom's DDB and Publicis' Digitas.

Phenomenon is owned by private-equity firms Sleeping Bear Capital and Berggruen Holdings. Menon often spoke of flying below the industry radar, but Phenomenon has had big-name clients such as PepsiCo, DC Entertainment, Neustar, Intuit, and Crate and Barrel. It positioned itself as a combination ad agency and consulting firm and expanded into TV and film.

The agency acquired Detroit-based digital agency Marketing Supply Co. in January.

Beyond advertising, Menon co-created the reality TV show "America's Prom Queen," which aired on ABC Family for one season in 2008.

Menon did not respond to emails and calls seeking comment.
